about.
henri sudy is many things;
"USUAl" is not one of them.
I am a trans, genderqueer human being, first and foremost.

Secondly, I am an artist. I can’t help it. So instead, I train it.

Like many other kids, I spent my formative years pretending to be other people. I just… never really grew out of it. I crave stories that run the gamut of the human experience, tales with unexpected humor , and the narratives of people who write themselves into the stories they need. I am a champion for LGBTQIA2S+ rights and representation, as well as a staunch supporter of dismantling the binary.
Originally from LaGrange, Ohio (while telling everyone I’m from the much more “hip” Oberlin), I relocated to Dallas, Texas in 2022. I moved to seek art born from necessity and community; the kind of work that brings total unabashed joy — as well as deep relief — to its audience. I want to give a voice to all the feel-too-deepers, the oddballs, and the nerds out there. (Literally. I freakin’ love voice acting!!)
I’m in search of fellow humans who are kind artists who love loving what they do, while knowing they always have more to learn. And ideally, they’re willing to share a joke, their favorite museum, and bowls upon bowls of ramen!
In recent years I’ve worked as a company member and assistant director with One Year Lease Theatre Company, co-created and co-hosted the podcast Did You Find This Helpful? with the people’s playwright, SMJ (seriously go check them out if you haven’t yet), and am eagerly awaiting the chance to share some in-the-works VO projects!
Currently I’m having a blast auditioning from my newly-upgraded home studio, and diving into the wonderfully weird world of motion capture.
Thanks for being here! Feel free to reach out — I love surprise emails almost as much as surprise letters.
